With our setup, the heat zone is isolated. You can swap the element without turning the rest of the chassis into an oven. One quick tip: even though swapping is easy, you should still peek at the terminal tension every couple of years. Metal expands and contracts when it heats up, and those contacts can loosen over time. A quick tighten of the fasteners keeps everything snug and prevents any nasty sparking. It turns what used to be a nightmare repair into just another quick check-up.
